The Hispanic young adult group of our parish, Nuevo Amanecer, organized their first diocesan level “Hearts Retreat” outside Hemsptead. The retreat was held at St. Patrick Church in Glen Cove, NY from February 4-6, 2022 in collaboration with Fuerza Nueva Youth Group at Glen Cove, and the Hispanic Young Adult Ministry of the diocese. There were 41 young adults from different parishes in Long Island that participated in this weekend retreat. The speakers at the retreat included Bishop Luis Miguel Romero, M.Id, the auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, Father Pedro Rivas, Sch.P., from Puerto Rico who was a former member of the Fuerza Nueva hispanic Youth Group of that parish in Glen Cove.
