The Idente Missionaries begin the centennial of Fernando Rielo

On December 2, 2022, the Idente Missionaries of the United States celebrated at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan, New York, the mass commemorating the entry into eternal life of their founder, Fernando Rielo. About 2,000 people from the four parishes administered by the Idente missionaries in New York filled St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The 50 altar servers from the Idente parishes who opened the entrance procession witnessed with their presence their love for Fernando Rielo. New York is dear to the hearts of all Idente missionaries because it is where Fernando Rielo spent the last 16 years of his life. During his time in New York, he gave conferences and seminars. His talks were mainly about his philosophical, theological and poetic thought. On January 23, 1994, while he was in New York, the Idente Missionaries were officially recognized as a public association of the faithful. Forty days before his death, the Idente Missionaries were canonically elevated to an Institute of Consecrated Life of diocesan right: and on July 11, 2009, of pontifical right.
